Yarngo Music is a new label and we are proud to announce the release of our debut release Songs of the African Coast: Cafe Music of Liberia. This unique recording encompasses rate music recorded in 1948 in Liberia by the noted ethnomusicologist, and my late Great Uncle, Arthur Alberts.

Why Yarngo Music?
I¡¯ve named the label after the Yarngo Bar in Monrovia, Liberia. The Yarngo Bar is where Arthur Alberts recorded some of the songs on this first CD¡particularly those sung by Howard B. Hayes and Malinda Parker. The Yarngo Bar is also found on the cover of the CD as well as on an interior photo on

the CD. We plan to have many other exciting releases coming from around the world and throughout the USA¡so check us out on a regular basis!
